From a local, family-owned retail operation, to an international food trading company, Export Packers has a long history of manufacturing & trading expertise.
1927
Rubenstein Family’s Small Kosher retail poultry store opened
1937
Incorporated as Export Packers, registered in Ontario, Canada
1940’s
Toronto Poultry & Egg Production Plant acquisition
1955
Toronto Cold Storage Facility acquired and partially converted to house Canada’s first mechanical egg breaking operation
1960’s
Creamery & Egg Grading Operation was acquired
1978
Egg Processing moved to new 80,000 sq ft plant in Winnipeg
1982

Jeff Rubenstein
CHAIRMAN
The company is led by Jeff Rubenstein, Chairman and controlling shareholder. Since joining the business in 1968, Jeff has established a reputation throughout the food industry as an expert on market trends in food commodities. Jeff’s contributions have helped make Export Packers one of the most highly respected commodity trading houses in North America. Jeff is supported by a team of experienced and tenured senior managers who continue to forge new growth for this Canadian-based, global enterprise.
Dan LeBlanc
CEO
Dan LeBlanc is the President and Chief Executive Officer at Export Packers. Dan joined the company in 1994, in the role of Vice President of Finance, and took on the role of President & COO in 2002. Dan’s leadership, professionalism and commitment to innovation have shaped a steady, long-term trajectory of growth and expansion into new markets including various acquisitions and divestitures along the way. Dan earned a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Alberta and is a CPA, CA.
Brian Lampert
CFO
Brian Lampert is the Chief Financial Officer at Export Packers. Brian joined the company in 2005 and is responsible for all Finance, IT and HR functions. He has been instrumental in building out these functions within the organization and aligning them to support the company’s growth strategy. Prior to joining EP, Brian held various senior finance roles outside of the food sector. Brian holds Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Accountancy degrees from the University of the Witwatersrand (South Africa) and is a CPA, CA.
